Adolescent Therapy

Children today are under a great deal of stress and often feel anxious, pressured, and exhausted by their many commitments and expectations. Engaging in therapy gives kids the opportunity to explore those areas of their lives that feel overwhelming or frightening. One-on-one therapy for adolescents can help improve their overall functioning and  feelings of self-worth and agency at home, at school, and with their peers.

Some common reasons adolescents go to therapy:

  • Struggles with peer relationships

  • Parental separation & divorce

  • Anxiety

  • Perfectionism

  • Depression

  • Gender role and sexual identity questioning

  • Drop in grades

  • Isolation/Withdrawing

  • Stress management

  • Trauma

  • Medical/physical illness
